Located on 7 1/2 acres in West Brimfield, Kings Bridge provides an individual indoor stall for each horse in its care. Individual box stalls allow each horse to relax and become comfortable with the surroundings and activity at our facility allowing caretakers easy access for proper individualized daily care. Stalls are matted and padded as needed for the comfort of each horse.

Horses are not pastured outdoors in herd groups except during turn-out time for those who have clearance to free exercise and then are closely matched and monitored to ensure a safe environment. Each pasture group consists of two to a maximum of three horses. Pastures are grass maintained spring, summer and fall. For horses who cannot graze on grass or need to have their activity restricted but are allowed outside access, a sand paddock is available. All pastures are wooden fenced.

Our "Wilson-O'Day Rehabilition Center" currently consists of a specially constructed two stall barn. One oversized stall is equipped with an Anderson Sling, donated by Milton Bradley Company, allowing a horse to be slung off his/her feet should the need arise for a more comfortable recovery where weight bearing must be minimized. A three stall Isolation Barn located away from the main rehab barn is also available for horses who arrive with a suspected or unknown, pre-diagnosed conditions.

In the spring of 1999, construction will begin on our new equine library for general public use which will be dedicated to the memory of Taylor Young Lincoln, an avid horse person and member of the W.F. Young family, makers of "Absorbine" products for horses. The library will feature books, publications, magazines, videos and horse related information ranging from fiction to medical in nature. The library will be accessible to anyone with an interest in horses.

The public is invited to visit our Brimfield facility by appointment. Generally, visiting hours are held weekend afternoons allowing barn chores, vet visits, farm maintenance and horse care to be undertaken without interruption at other times. This also allows for a member of the Kings Bridge Board of Directors to meet with visitors ensuring caretakers remain free to go about daily horse activities. Please call ahead (413 283-7419) to arrange an appropriate time to visit with the horses at Kings Bridge.
